Jesse has been writing all of her life and has been recognized for her careful craft since childhood with several Young Author Awards for poetry and short prose. After taking nearly a decade off and marrying, giving birth to five children and pursuing a career in birth work—specifically homebirth midwifery—she couldn’t ignore that she enjoyed her studies in English, literature and composition more than science. She now focuses full time on writing while obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and English with a concentration on Poetry from Southern New Hampshire University. She minors in History with plans to achieve her Master’s Degree in English.

I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart. I am, I am, I am.” - Sylvia Plath

With children ranging in age from twelve to one and after nine years of marriage, Jesse draws inspiration from everyday life and personal experience. Infants, children, marriage, birth, death, childhood experiences and differently-abled children and people are all common themes in her work.  In her spare time she loves to read—the older the prose the better—collect old books and Doctor Who memorabilia, and she has a slightly unhealthy fascination with life before the birth of the internet. She journals frequently, writes (and mails!) letters and works to inspire her children to love books as much as she does. She has lived in the Central Florida area for the last thirty years and shares a cozy home with her husband, children and pets—all of which are named after Nintendo characters courtesy of her nerdy husband and kids.
